Montana Aerospace Secures Multi-Year Contract Extension With Airbus

We are pleased to share great news: Montana Aerospace has secured a multi-year extension of our long-term supply agreement with Airbus. Under this renewed contract, our Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC) teams in the U.S. and Europe will continue supplying a wide range of aluminum extrusion parts for the entire Airbus aircraft family.

This extension reflects more than two decades of trusted collaboration. Airbus’ decision confirms their ongoing confidence in us as the global market leader for heavy- and lightweight aerospace extrusions. Many of these extrusions undergo further in-house processing — including CNC machining, advanced surface treatment, and sub-assembly — demonstrating the strength of our vertical integration. This fully integrated value chain ensures efficiency, consistent quality, and long-term supply security for our customers.

Our Co-CEO, Kai Arndt, highlighted the significance of this milestone:
“Today’s contract extension marks a milestone in our partnership with Airbus. It highlights Montana Aerospace’s key role as a leading manufacturer of structural parts for the aerospace industry and confirms our ongoing investments in capacity, technology, and our one-stop-shop strategy for aerospace.”

A Partnership Built on Reliability and Quality

As a leading global manufacturer of high-strength extrusion parts, our long-standing partnership with Airbus is deeply rooted in reliability and top-tier quality. Today, we support numerous Airbus programs — from single-aisle aircraft to long-range platforms — contributing key structural components across the entire product family.

Our teams have also been recognized multiple times with Airbus’ prestigious SQIP Awards, reflecting outstanding achievements in quality, delivery reliability, and process excellence.

Extrusion:
A Core Technology Strengthened by Investment

Extrusion technology plays a vital role in aerospace manufacturing, providing lightweight, high-strength components with great design flexibility. In recent years, we have significantly expanded our extrusion capabilities:

  • In 2021, we opened a second state-of-the-art extrusion plant in Romania, equipped with presses for aluminum, titanium, and specialty steels.

  • In 2024, we commissioned Europe’s largest aluminum large-diameter press, along with a billet casting facility that enables alloy casting and full recycling — supporting both current and future production rates.

These investments strengthen our position as a global leader in extrusion manufacturing. They also reinforce our one-stop-shop approach, offering customers fully integrated solutions from development to final production. By incorporating energy-efficient processes and fully recycling aluminum scrap from our own operations, we also help reduce the environmental footprint of aerospace manufacturing.
