Supporting Our Community Through ESG Action: “Adopt-a-Mile“ at UAC US
by Kim Dangerfield, UAC US
Our UAC US team continues to show what ESG looks like in practice through their long-standing commitment to the Adopt-a-Mile program. While the county launched the program in 2021, UAC officially adopted its first mile in 2023—and their impact has grown ever since.
Year-by-year progress:
2023: 30 volunteers | 72.5 hours | 52 bags collected
2024: 37 volunteers | 102.25 hours | 77 bags collected
2025: 42 volunteers | 97.75 hours | 58 bags collected
Four times per year, volunteers spend 2-3 hours cleaning the area, typically filling around 15 bags of trash per event. Participation has remained consistently strong, with 8–10 employees attending each cleanup, often joined by family and friends. The events have also become a great way to connect with colleagues you might not normally work with, building both community and camaraderie. And with the county providing all supplies and collecting the trash afterward, our team can focus entirely on making a difference.
The ripple effects extend beyond the roadway: taking part in this initiative and learning more about the impact of litter on the local eco-system has inspired colleagues to take action themselves, by spreading awareness or even organizing local lake cleanups.
UAC US is also proud to share that this year, their efforts were recognized by being awarded the 2025 Partner of the Year Award, by the board of directors at Keep Cherokee Beautiful, the initiators of the Adopt-A-Mile-Program.
We hope this initiative inspires colleagues across all of Montana Aerospace to get involved - whether by joining future cleanups, supporting local projects in their own communities, or launching new volunteer efforts altogether. Small, consistent actions can create meaningful change, and together we can continue to strengthen our ESG impact while supporting communities around us.
