a students’ initiative on Liquid H2
Innovation has always been driven by curiosity, collaboration and the courage to explore new ideas. That's why we are excited to announce our new sponsorship of CELLSIUS, a student initiative of ETH Zurich.
Starting in September, we will support the team's Liquid H2 project, an ambitious initiative dedicated to developing a hydrogen-powered aircraft using liquid hydrogen technology. Building on previous electric and gaseous hydrogen demonstrators, the students are now taking the next step towards a flight-capable liquid hydrogen propulsion system.
Their goal is to double the aircraft's range to around 500 kilometres, while tackling complex engineering challenges such as cryogenic hydrogen storage, fuel cell integration, power electronics and aircraft testing.
