The VOICES Behind ASCO DeuTSCHLAND
Personal stories from our colleagues
Every role has a story behind it. To learn more about the people who contribute to our ASCO location in Gedern every day, we invited colleagues to share what they enjoy most about their work, what motivates them, and what makes their role meaningful.
The responses highlight different career paths, experiences, and perspectives, but they all have one thing in common: dedication, responsibility, and pride in the work they do.
Quality with Passion – for Almost 26 Years
Steffen Schäfer, one of the participants, has been part of ASCO Germany for almost 26 years and works as a Quality Inspector in the Profile Quality Department. What he appreciates most about his role is the variety it offers. From inspecting components and documentation to ensuring the highest quality standards, no two days are exactly the same.
What continues to fascinate him after all these years is the complexity of aviation and the sheer number of different parts that come together in an aircraft.
“I am always fascinated by how many different types of parts are installed in an aircraft.”
In addition to his role in Quality, he has also been serving as Fire Safety Officer for nearly seven years, taking on an important responsibility alongside his daily work.
As part of the initiative, a Montana Aerospace suitcase was raffled among all participants. Steffen was the lucky winner and recently received his prize from Melissa. Congratulations, Steffen!
Different Roles, Different Perspectives
As Production Shift Leader in Gedern, Maik Treppe coordinates daily production activities and helps ensure smooth operations throughout the shift. He combines technical expertise with a structured and solution-oriented approach and believes that clear communication, reliable organization, and mutual respect are essential for success. For him, achieving quality results is always a team effort.
Patrick Ruppel has been part of ASCO Germany for almost 17 years. He started as a CNC Machinist in profile manufacturing before moving to the Structure Quality Department in 2023. Looking back, he especially values the opportunities for development and the chance to take on new challenges within the company.
When it comes to aviation, one thing stands out for him above all: responsibility. Every component must be manufactured with precision because people's safety depends on it. As he puts it, “every mistake would be a catastrophe because human lives depend on the trust that they will arrive safely.”
He also highlights the qualities he associates with ASCO Germany: progress, precision, strong performance, and the production of safe components.
For Melissa Müller, Human Resources is about creating an environment where people can grow, take responsibility, and enjoy coming to work. She values the variety of her role, whether it involves supporting employees, advising managers, navigating change, or addressing day-to-day challenges.
What fascinates her about the aerospace industry is its combination of precision, safety, and technological excellence. The collaboration between people, processes, and expertise makes the industry unique, and contributing to that through her work in HR is what motivates her every day.
